Hello Bruna,

: 1) i read your answer about the 2 styles of cane/stick dance, one for saiidi songs and another for baladi songs, but it isn't very clear to me...

Hossam says: Yes, there is a big difference between Saidi and Baladi Cane dancing. One is pure folklore and the other is Urbanised folklore. They both relate in a certain way to each other, but the difference is very strong. The Saidi cane dance is a self defence martial art like dance. It is attacking, retrieving, ducking and weaving. The Baladi, is musical, a bit macho, even by ladies, and is a demonstration of artistic skill, rather than pure self defence.

: 2) i read somewhere that you don't agree (or something like that) with suraya hilal's style or ideas... why? it's just a curiosity, i just saw her dancing on a video and i wanted to know your opinion...

Soraya who?
Where did you read that exactly?

: 3) and finally: what is the thing about the sword dance? is there a specific rhythm or appropiate movements/songs/costumes/etc?

No, you can dance with the sword to any rhythms that you want dance with. but I urge you to be carefull.

: just wanted to add that i truly enjoy dancing to your songs... zeina and aziza are masterpieces that ALWAYS make me smile and dance with joy.

Thank you for the compliments.
Best Regards
Hossam
